“… just a couple of guys running a random web site about football … .” You’re right, I can’t take it seriously when you randomly try to cut down a franchise that built itself from AFL infancy, to NFL doormat, to a mediocre team that made a magical run to Super Bowl XX — only to get bitch-slapped by a near-perfect Bears squad — to a team that will eclipse the Bears’ phenomenal ‘85 season this year.

I have a serious question for you. Do either of you guys have any appreciation for sports history? If you answer yes, then be prepared to witness it on Feb. 3, when the Patriots - in all likelihood - will complete the first 19-0 season in NFL history.

Also, one comment: I dare you or anyone else to scour through Roger Goodell’s statements on the penalties levied against the Patriots, and show me where it says the word “cheated” in it. I dare you. You won’t find it anywhere, because it wasn’t cheating. They were penalized for ignoring the NFL mandate sent to all teams before Week 1 to keep cameras off the sideline, and were properly (and excessively) punished for it. I think 750k and a 1st-round pick were plenty, and a but harsh to be honest, considering how many respected coaches conceded that it happens regularly and it was “no big deal.”

What I can say without reservation is this: considering the Pats’ Matt Estrella and his camera were removed from the sidelines 7 MINUTES INTO THE 1ST QUARTER of the first game, it is clear that NO competitive advantage has been used throughout this season. Well, that’s not entirely true. There is the competitive advantage of the Patriots proving week after week that they’re simply that much better than the rest of the NFL.
Get used to it guys, because the success won’t end any time soon.

    (P.S. smile for the camera!)

Reminder: Interested in Advertising on your site!

    Hi,
I am basically interested for business reasons. I had written to you about the offer a few days back. Perhaps you never got the mail in the first place. Anyhow, here is the deal. I found your site http://touchdown.org/ really enchanting and would like to buy a number of text-links on your site. Let me know if you would like to hear more of this.

    Best regards,
    Tom
